097 小刺猬的麻烦

Hedgehog had just finished building her winter nest under the old apple tree. Not too large and not too small. Just right for a nice long winter sleep. 一棵老苹果树下，小刺猬刚刚建好了她过冬的小窝。不大，也不小，正合适在里面美美地睡上一个冬天。 Suddenly a juicy red apple landed on her back. "Ouch!" squeaked Hedgehog. 突然，一个鲜红多汁的大苹果落在了她的背上。“哎呦！”吓得小刺猬吱吱叫。 She curled into a spiny ball, hoping it would fall off. But when she uncurled, the juicy red apple was still there. 小刺猬缩成一个球，希望大苹果自己掉下来。可是，当她伸开手脚时，鲜红多汁的大苹果仍然留在她的背上。 Hedgehog tried to squeeze herself and the apple into the beautiful new nest. But could she get in? No, she could not. Not with the apple on her back. The nest was too small. 小刺猬又试着背着苹果一起往她漂亮的新窝里面钻。 可是，她钻的进去吗？ 不，背着大苹果可钻不进去。这个窝太小了。 Oh dear! 噢！我的天哪！ Squirrel, scurrying past with an armful of brown nuts, stopped to help. 小松鼠两手抱着满满的棕色坚果，正一路小跑着赶路，看到小刺猬。他停下来帮忙。 "Stand still. I`ll push the apple off." he said. " “站着别动，我帮你把大苹果推下去。”他说。 And he pushed. And he heaved. 于是，他推啊推，拉啊拉。 And he struggled. And he tugged. 扭啊扭。抓啊抓。 But the juicy red apple stayed where it was. Worse still, three of Squirrel`s brown nuts got caught in Hedgehog`s spines. So now she had a juicy red apple and three brown nuts on her back. 可是，那个鲜红多汁的大苹果依然好好的呆在小刺猬的背上。更糟糕的是，小松鼠怀里的三个棕色坚果也扎在小刺猬刺儿中间拔不出来了。这么一来，小刺猬背着一个鲜红多汁的大苹果又加上三只棕色的坚果。 "Oh dear!" wailed Hedgehog."Winter is coming and I can`t get into my nest. What will I do?" "Try rolling on your back." snorted Pig, trotting up. " That`ll get rid of them." "噢。我的天啊！"小刺猬哭了起来，"冬天就要来了。我钻不进我的小窝去了。我该怎么办呀！” “你在地上打个滚儿试试。”小猪哼哼地，一路小跑过来了。“这样你就能把他们蹭掉了！” “Has it all gone?”she asked hopefully. Scrabbling to her feet. Pig shook his head. “No.” The juicy red apple and the three brown nuts were still there. So were a small green pear and a crumpled brown leaf. “Oh dear!” sighed Hedgehog, rolling her eyes. “掉了没有？”她满怀希望地问，小手小脚在地上扑腾。 小猪摇了摇头，”没掉。” 那个鲜红多汁的大苹果和三只棕色的坚果依然好好的呆在小刺猬的背上。而且，还多了一只小小的青梨和一片皱巴巴的枯树叶。 “噢，我的天哪！”小刺猬转转她的小眼睛，叹了口气。 But up in the sky, sailing towards Hedgehog, she saw a colorful bit of card. Bother! She cried. This way and that she ran, as fast as she could. This way and that drifted the card... 祸不单行，就在她头上，飞来了一小张鲜艳的卡片。 真烦人!她大喊。小刺猬左躲右闪，拼命地跑。小卡片也左飘右荡的跟着她…… ... And landed right on her back, between the apple and the three brown nuts. ”It`s not fair! “ Cried Hedgehog, who now had a juicy red apple, three brown nuts, a small green pear, a crumpled brown leaf and a colorful bit of card on her back. “I’ll never get into my nest!” ……不偏不倚地正好落在她背上，扎在了大苹果和棕色坚果中间。 “这真是邪门啦！”小刺猬叫着，现在她的背上插着一个鲜红多汁的大苹果，三只棕色的坚果，一只小小的青梨，一片皱巴巴的枯树叶还加上一小张鲜艳的卡片。 “我永远也别想钻进我的小窝了！” Hedgehog pattered to the pond and gazed at her reflection in the water. “Hello, Hedgehog. That’s a lot of stuff on your back.” Croaked Frog. “I’m trying to get rid of it.” Sniffed Hedgehog。 “Dive,” said Frog.“That will wash it off” Said Frog. 小刺猬吧嗒吧嗒的走到池塘边，她盯着水中自己的倒影瞧。 “嘿，小刺猬。你可背着不少好玩意儿啊！”青蛙呱呱地说。 “我正在想办法把它们弄掉呢。”小刺猬吸了吸鼻子。 “水能把他们冲掉。“青蛙建议道。 Hedgehog dipped afoot in the murky water then dived. 小刺猬伸出一只小脚丫踩进深色的水中。接着，潜了下去。 Splash! Her friends watched Hedgehog bobbing up and down. The Juicy red apple, the three brown nuts, the small green pear, the crumpled brown leaf and the colorful bit of card were all still there. So was a pink water lily. 哗……小刺猬的朋友们看着她在水里上上下下地扑腾着。 那个鲜红多汁的大苹果，三只棕色的坚果，那只小小的香梨，那片皱巴巴的枯树叶还有那张鲜艳的卡片依然好好地呆在小刺猬的背上。 而且，还多了一朵粉红色的荷花。 “Glug~glug~glug” gurgled Hedgehog as the others heaved her out of the water. She did look funny! “咳~咳~咳”大家把小刺猬拉出水面的时候，她还吐着水呢。她看起来真是滑稽极了！ But Hedgehog didnot find it funny. “Stop laughing!” she spluttered and stamped her feet on the ground. “Where am I going to sleep?” Pig and Squirrel looked worried. So did Frog. 可是，小刺猬一点儿也不觉得好笑。 “别笑了！”噼里啪啦地跺着脚丫。 “这下我去哪儿睡觉啊？” 小猪和小松鼠露出担心的神色，小青蛙也一样。 “I do have one last idea,” oinked Pig. “Squeeze through that hedge over there. That’ll brush everything off.” So Hedgehog closed her eyes and squeezed herself through the thick leaves. But did it get everything off her back? “我倒是还有最后一个主意，”小猪呼噜噜地说。“你使劲儿从那堆树丛中穿过去，那些小树能把所有的东西都刮掉。” 于是，小刺猬闭上眼睛，把自己塞进浓密的树叶中去。不过，它真的能把所有的东西都刮掉吗？ No, it did not. It was all still there. So were four ripe blackberries. And staring at her, with a look of great surprise, stood Goat! 不，它们不能。所有的东西都一动不动地呆在她的背上。 而且，还多了四颗熟透了的黑莓。这时候，一只山羊站在小刺猬面前，吃惊地盯着她！ “Oooh!” cried Goat.”You’ve brought LUNCH!” “Help yourself.”Said Hedgehog.”Take it all.” “咩——“山羊叫着。“你给我带来了午餐啊！” “别客气，随便吃。”小刺猬说。“全部都吃光。” “Yippee!” brayed Goat. Then he picked off and ate the juicy red apple. The three brown nuts, the small green pear, the pink water lily and the four ripe blackberries. For pudding, he ate the card. The only thing he left was the crumpled brown leaf. He just couldn’t eat any more. “太好了！”山羊尖叫起来。 接着，他把鲜红多汁的大苹果，和三只棕色的坚果、小小的青梨、粉红色的荷花，还有四颗熟透了的黑莓一个一个地摘下来吃掉。 他连那张小卡片也作为餐后甜点吃掉了。唯一剩下的东西就是那片皱巴巴的枯树叶。 他已经吃饱了。多一点儿也吃不下了。 “Hoorah!” cried Hedgehog. She felt as light as a feather. “Thank you, Goat.”She said. “好哟！”小刺猬高兴地大喊。她觉得现在的自己轻飘飘的仿佛一片羽毛。 “谢谢你，山羊！” 她说。 Then she ran as fast as her little legs could carry her, through the gate, pass the pond, across the orchard, under the tree and home to her nest. 说完她就跑开了，用她最快的速度全力奔跑，通过了篱笆门，经过小池塘，穿过果园，大树底下是她的家。她一路冲进自己的小窝。 Hedgehog squeezed into her little nest. It fitted her perfectly. And it was the best nest ever. Outside a cold wind blew another apple off the tree. 小刺猬蹭进她的小窝。小窝不大不小正合适。这是最好的窝啦！家门外面，寒冷的风又吹落了一个大苹果。 But it didn’t fall on Hedgehog. She was safe in her nest and fast, fall asleep. 不过这一次，大苹果没有落到小刺猬身上。她在小窝里可安全了，一眨眼功夫，她就睡着了。 好啦，今天的故事就到这啦~
