Adventure Is Out There
Have you watched the animated film Up? If you have, then you must be impressed by the flying house with thousands of colorful balloons.
Just like in the film, recently, there is a crazy hot-air balloon lover, Simon Askey, one of the UK’s most experienced hot-air balloon pilots. As well as appearing in a number of TV shows as a pilot or acting as a consultant for balloon flights, Simon also appeared in the 1999 James Bond movie, The World Is Not Enough.
He is travelling around the world in his brightly colored hot-air balloon. It has 600 balloons and is about 2,400 cubic meters. It does not, however, carry a house but a traditional basket.
The special balloon has attracted many people at the Canberra Balloon Spectacular in Australia. After that, it took off on its next adventure throughout the world including a trip to Japan this year. In the past, the balloon was only spotted flying over the Tower Bridge in London.
But fans hope that the balloon can go to Angel Falls in Venezuela. Up’s “Paradise Falls” were inspired by Angel Falls. Angel Falls are the world’s highest waterfall. The adventure of the film’s main characters, the old man Carl and the fat boy Russell, happens around Paradise Falls. And it is also the dream place where Carl wants to place his flying house in order to realize his wife’s dream.
Just like Carl, whose motto in the movie is “Adventure is out there”, Simon is now taking his adventure of travelling around the world in his hot-air balloon.
