Well-known Chinese singer and actor, a member of the pop band TFBOYS, Wang Yuan has been appointed by United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) as a Special Advocate for Education.
“I’m very proud to join UNICEF China as a Special Advocate for Education. It’s not only an honor but also a responsibility,” said Wang.
Wang said he would actively promote education for all Chinese children. He said, “Education is a right. Let’s work hard to make education even better in the future.”
UNICEF China Acting Representative Douglas Noble welcomed Wang’s appointment. “We are thankful to Wang Yuan for joining us in this important endeavor to promote high quality education for every child. We look forward to continued cooperation with our partners, with all the hard-working teachers and students, in promoting, protecting and fulfilling the rights of all children in China,” said Noble.
UNICEF works with the Chinese government to promote and support high quality education for all children. It works with partners to spread Child-friendly School model in remote and poor areas of China. A child-friendly school is one that is designed for the best interests of children. UNICEF believes that children come first and every child, no matter who he is, and no matter what part of China he comes from, has a right to high quality education.
Wang Yuan will do his best for the children’s education in the remote villages in China.
