Most recently, Dong Qing has been more popular than before for her work on both Chinese Poetry Competition and Readers, two of the most popular cultural TV shows in China.
Through the shows, Dong hoped to bring the habit of reading aloud back to the public.
Both Dong’s mother and father graduated from Fudan University and they are well-educated. In her childhood, her parents always offered a list of books for her to read each summer vacation, so reading became a must throughout her childhood and youth.
Dong loves to read. She is intelligent, and she never gives up improving herself.
Now she is a happy mother. She said that she would surely set a good example to her child with her sound words and deeds.
“A mother’s responsibilities should not only care for children, but she should also set a good example to her children, encourage them and teach them how to behave themselves and make efforts,” said Dong.
“First bury your head in books and then your children will follow you and fall in love with reading, too. Never lie on the sofa and play with your mobile phone, as soon as you return home. Instead of watching TV, do sports, climb hills, play ball games and then your children will enjoy being active and make many friends. Parents’ words and deeds will do have great influence on children’s life. “Behave and perfect yourself as you expect your children to,” said Dong.
