介绍:
Portugal is one country that’s perfect for book lovers, and it is home to some of the most beautiful bookstores and libraries in the world. In the town of Obidos you will find the Literary Man Hotel, where you can escape from the noisy world and have your nose in as many pages as you could possibly want. Obidos is a beautiful 700-year-old medieval town. Surrounded by castle walls and filled with beautifully decorated homes and shops, it is one of Portugal’s most famous treasures. Built in 2015, the hotel is built entirely around literary themes. It is one of the largest book hotels in the world, and also serves as a library and bookshop, with about 65,000 books, covering a variety of genres, from novels and poetry to cookbooks. The building that houses the hotel today was once a convent and a few of the rooms have maintained some of its traditional charms. In the hotel, there are 30 rooms, all of which have books. The idea is to provide a unique experience for their guests — each room has a specific literary theme. For instance, Room 14 is named after the Portuguese Nobel Prize winner José Saramago, and has books written by him. You will find other rooms dedicated to poetry, travel writing and detective stories. The old town is every book lover’s island of dreams. In 2015, UNESCO gave Obidos the title of “City of Literature”.
