Mommy, teach me to read - Reading---the great adventure 6/6

“It doesn't sound as though the “professionals” are really better equipped at all!  看起来“专家们”也根本没能胜任。  That's because in the past few decades, public education has turned the reading realm upside down. Educrats (a term for educators in policy-making rather than teaching positions) arbitrarily replaced a consistently successful teaching method with something more modern—the “whole language” approach to reading. Now we are reaping the negative rewards of this failed experiment.  Didn't anyone notice that the traditional approach was producing the desired results?Perhaps they should have remembered the maxim If it works, don't fix it.     这是因为在过去的几十年中，公共教育已经把阅读领域本末倒置。 教育官员（形容那些制定教育政策而不是从事教育工作的教育者的术语）用更时髦的方式—“全语言”的阅读方式随意替换一贯成功的教学方法。现在，我们正在收获这种失败试验的糟糕回报。     难道没有人注意到，传统方法才能带来我们想要的结果吗？或许他们应该记住这个格言：如果有效，就不要改变。
