"H" is for her heart. "E" is for her eyes. "R" means right. The word is "MOTHER". The word mother means the whole world to everyone . No matter you are happy or unhappy, rich or poor, mother’s love will always stay with you. Mother's Day, first appeared in ancient Greece, time is the annual January 8, in honor of the Mother of the Gods. During the 1600s, England celebrated a day called "Mothering Sunday". Celebrated on the 4th Sunday. "Mothering Sunday" honored the mothers of England. During this time, many of the England's poor people worked for rich people. And the poor people live in the rich people’s house. On Mothering Sunday the poor people have a day to rest. They were encouraged to return home and spend the day with their mothers. A special cake, called the mothering cake was eaten on this special day. In 1907, Anna Jarvis, began to set up a national Mother's Day. Jarvis asked her mother's church to celebrate Mother's Day on the second special day of her mother's death, the 2nd Sunday of May. The next year Mother's Day was also celebrated in Philadelphia. Jarvis and others write a letter to president , hoping to establish a national Mother's Day. They were successful. President, in 1914, made the special day as Mother's Day. It was held each year on the 2nd Sunday of May. Many other countries of the world celebrate their own Mother's Day at different times throughout the year. Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia, and Belgium celebrate Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May, also in the U.S. Flower is the most common gift in this special day. In west, the carnation flower is regarded as a special flower for mother. In China, lily flower, also known as Wang Youcao 忘忧草(orange flowers, very beautiful) is a special flower for mother . Mother's Day is a time of celebration for Mom. It is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of May. To express thanks for the hardships they have in bringing up a child. Most countries including US, Australia, Canada and India celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May. It is a day when children give their mothers cards, gifts, and flowers. On this day , the children express their love for mother by giving cards, gifts and cakes. The children decorate a vase with fresh flowers. They also help mother to do some chores, wash clothes, and cook delicious food with father.
