INTERVIEWER: Hi, Colin, how are you?
COLIN: Not too bad, yeah.
INTERVIEWER: I’m very - great to see you again, I saw you at the London Film Festival -
COLIN: Oh, yeah.
INTERVIEWER: Can you tell us a bit more about this film in terms of your involvement with it?
COLIN: Yeah. (inhales) I play Victor Richardson, who is one of the friends of Vera, through her brother Edward. Victor very much has a soft spot for Vera. I guess at the beginning of the film you see him a point where he hopes maybe something might come of that. Unfortunately, it doesn’t, but that says a lot about, I think, his strength of character, that he then becomes a support for Vera, because he’s unable to fight in the war, he’s unable to do that because he’s rejected because of his poor eyesight. So he faces the shame of that, he faces his personal life back home, until eventually the war becomes so bad that he is drafted in because they need the men. And he’s maimed in a tragic way, which again, right up to the end, I think he’s still fighting for what’s true to him and what’s true to his beliefs.
INTERVIEWER: Sure. And one final question from me, I know you’ve got a project called Humans coming up, can you tell us a bit about that, and what you’ve got lined up after that?
COLIN: Yeah. Humans, I’m really excited about it. It’s - as soon as I read the script, it was an instant sure thing, I just loved it. It’s with the impact of what artificial intelligence would have on modern society, but in about, sort of, six or seven different storylines, and six or seven different ways. It’s - I’m really in love with it. And I hope everyone else is as well. And then Legend is coming out later on in the year, where Tom Hardy is playing both Kray twins, so I’m excited to see that too.
