In the OU section, we'll go to the comments sections to what people are saying about Ann Coulter's recent inflammatory rant about how football is anti-American.
Controversial columnist Ann Coulter has recently penned her concerns over America's attitude towards embracing football, claiming that the country's new found love for the sport was a sure sign of "moral decay".
In her rant against the sport, Coulter attacked everyone from liberals to soccer-moms to media outlets that she feels are forcing the nation to love the game.
She even pointed a blaming finger at immigration for the increasing amount of "new" Americans watching football and claimed that "nobody with American born great-grandparents is watching the sport".
Coulter also pointed out that there is no such thing as individual achievements in the game, which goes against the morals that America was built on.
In her follow up article, "Soccer: part deux" Coulter stands by her previous opinions reiterating that football is a painfully boring, girls game and that there isn't enough action to make it exciting.
She also added that the Suarez biting incident which occurred shortly after publishing her first article, was further proof in the lack of manliness within the sport.

It makes me happy that she does not get soccer/football. The game brings people together and makes the world feel a little bit smaller. A nice distraction from all the wars, recession, gun violence etc…If she is against it then I know I am on the right side of my appreciation of this sport.

She wrote this as a joke right? Just because she personally doesn't like soccer everyone that does is bringing the country down?? What??

What the heck….who would think the day that the popularity of a sport would become a political hot topic.

If she doesn't like it, don't watch it. She's certainly entitled to her opinions, but her conclusions about the game and it's fans are just nothing but vitriolic hyperbole.

I'm with you, I'm not a big soccer fan. Unless it's a shoot out, it's kind of monotonous watching guys run up and down the field

Ann Coulter's increasing stupidity is a sign of the nation's moral decay.

Soccer is the sport parents put their kids in so they won't get hurt. Admit it. Don't lie to yourself, and just admit the truth. Real men play football or rugby. Real men don't play a sport where the players flap their useless hands like humming bird wings while squeaking with every exertion it takes for their foot to hit a ball. You still don't believe that soccer is for femmie dudes? Google fake soccer injuries. Are these real men?

I'll admit, I'm not a soccer/football fan (baseball, ice hockey, basketball and American style football are my games of choice to watch. But my thoughts are if it entertains you, go ahead and watch. I tried soccer/football and found it duller that what I wanted so changes it to a baseball game. For the "American sports players don't cry on camera?" Is she nuts? In all the stadiums, fields and courts I've been to around to watch American football, ice hockey and baseball, it's not an uncommon sight to see the losing players tear up a bit. In short, Ann Coulter is a nut job.
