Israeli politicians have voted in favour of dissolving the country's parliament
Former Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni was dismissed last week by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"I know some people say the election isn't necessary. The decision is the prime minister's decision as a result of his fear from the ministers. But this is the opportunity, in this election, to replace the prime minister and create a different government."
Voters are expected to head to the polls in March.
