[兰七剑中英论语诵读13-忠孝篇] （8）子夏問孝。子曰：“色難。有事，弟子服其勞；有酒食，先生饌，曾是以為孝乎? ” The scholar Zixia asked what filial piety was. The Master Confucius said, “The difficulty is with the countenance. If the young, when their elders are in need, take the toil of them; when having wine and food, serve their elders first. Is this to be considered filial piety?” （22）子曰：“人而無信，不知其可也。大車無輗，小車無軏，其何以行之哉？” The Master Confucius said, “I don’t know what a man can do without faithfulness. How can a large carriage move without the cross-bar, or a small carriage without the connector?”
