The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands / the power to abolish / all forms of human poverty / and all forms of human life. And yet the same/ revolutionary beliefs / for which our forebears fought / are still at issue around the globe -- the belief that the rights of man / come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God. 现在的世界已大不相同了。人类虽是凡人，却掌握着既能消除人间各种贫困以及毁灭各类生活的力量。但我们的先辈为之奋斗的那些革命信念，仍然在世界各地倍受世人关注——这个信念就是人的权利并非来自国之慷慨，而是来自上帝的恩赐。
