Ctrip.com, China's leading online travel agent, has released the best destination ratings by Chinese travelers for last year.
It held an award ceremony in Yunnan's Lijiang recently, and recognized both domestic and foreign destinations based on 13 categories, including "Best Domestic Destination", "Best Luxury Destination" and "Best for Family Fun".
According to the online poll, Beijing was voted the favorite destination for Chinese students, and ranked fourth for family fun. Sanya on Hainan Island took the lead by winning both "Best Domestic Destination" and "Best Family Fun Destination". Hong Kong is most popular for outbound travel; Dubai is the favorite luxury destination; and Chengdu in southwest China is the most favored by China's post-80s generation.
The Ctrip "Best Tourist Destination of the Year Award" was launched in 2009 to rank the popularity of tourist destinations by Chinese travelers.

rank v. 排名，位于… 该词可及物，也可不及物（及物意味着可以出现被动语态，不及物则不可以）。一般讲某某在排行榜单上位列第几的时候，推荐用法是不及物，即直接说rank + 名次，而不用被动语态的be ranked + 名次。当然，榜单总是由人定的，所以用被动语态也不算错，但不推荐。
例句：
Although Gangnam Style was insanely popular, it never ranked no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. （尽管《江南Style》红得发紫，它却从来没有登上过美国告示牌单曲榜的冠军宝座。）
outbound travel n. 出境游 虽然香港是中国的一部分，但因不在大陆地区，所以去香港旅游算是“出境游”。同理，去澳门、台湾旅游也属于outbound travel。
post-80s generation n. 80后，即1980年代出生的人。严格说来，post-80s generation这样的表述是有问题的，因为只要是1980年后出生的人（包括90后、00后等等）都符合条件。真正意义上的在1980年代出生的80后，应该说the generation that was born in the 1980s。但因为这样的表述过长，不利于传播交流，所以很多时候新闻英语依旧会用post-80s generation。
