介绍:
Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams didn't only get lucky — they won in every category① they were nominated② for at the Grammy Awards, including the coveted album of the year and record of the year for the funk-electronic anthem "Get Lucky." ("Get Lucky" awards announcement) The French duo Daft Punk won four awards, including best dance/electronica album for "Random Access Memories" and pop duo③/group performance for "Get Lucky," which also earned Pharrell Williams a trophy④. Daft Punk's retro, dance-flavored album not only featured the ultra-hip Pharrell Williams, but it also included music veterans⑤ Nile Rodgers and Giorgio Moroder. The 70s-sounding album matched the nostalgic mood of the Grammys, which featured many mellow performances and acts like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Chicago and Stevie Wonder. Pharrell, like Daft Punk, won four honors. He came into the night with seven nominations, but competed with himself in three categories. Williams, who has produced hits for Britney Spears and Jay Z in the past, won his first Grammy for non-classical producer of the year. ("Royals" by Lorde) While the men dominated, Lorde was the princess of the Grammys: Her hit "Royals" won song of the year and best pop solo performance. (Lorde in English) "This is the one thing that I did not expect the most about tonight, so thank you so much, I think mostly, to Bruno, to Sarah, to Katy, to Justin, I have been so inspired by all of your vocal work at some point in my life, so thank you.... Thank you so much." ("Same Love" by Macklemore) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis tied Williams and Daft Punk with four wins. They won best new artist and rap album for "The Heist," beating Kendrick Lamar, Jay Z, Kanye West and Drake. Macklemore thanks the fans on stage: (Macklemore) "Wow, we are here on this stage right now, first and foremost I want to thank the fans, the people who got us on this stage right now, before any media, before there was any buzz about us, before there was a story, there was our fans and it spread organically through them so without them there would be no us.” (Beyonce performing) Beyonce kicked off the Grammy Awards with a steamy and smoky performance of "Drunk In Love." Jay Z emerged in a fitted suit to rap his verse, and the couple — parents of little Blue Ivy — held hands and danced together. (Blurred Lines by Thicke) Robin Thicke performed with Chicago, singing the group's songs before going into "Blurred Lines," which energized the crowd. Katy Perry sang "Dark Horse" in an eerie⑥ forest with fire that mirrored the song's vibe, and John Legend and Taylor Swift — who whipped her head, and hair, back and forth — played pianos during their slow songs. Swift, who was nominated for album of the year, lost best country album in a surprise upset to rising singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves. The singer also beat Swift for best country song and was nominated for new artist. (Kacey Musgraves performing) (Kacey Musgraves in English) "I am a little shocked. I mean I'm always wanted to hold these things. But, really it just feels like such a fast roller-coaster. At the same time, it doesn't in a weird way because we've been working so hard but, this past year has just been indescribable. So many firsts for me and to be starting off 2014 like this, is one I'll never forget." (Holy Grail track) Justin Timberlake, who wasn't up for any of the major awards but had seven nods, didn't make an appearance at the show. He won three trophies, including best R&B song for "Pusher Love Girl" and music video for "Suit & Tie," which also earned Jay Z a Grammy. Jay Z and Timberlake also won best rap/sung collaboration⑦ for "Holy Grail." (Jay Z in English) "I want to thank God a little bit for this award, but mostly for that, in all the universe conspiring, and putting that beautiful light of a young lady in my life. And I want to tell Blu that 'daddy got a gold sippy cup for you'." Bruno Mars, who will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show next week, won best pop vocal album with his sophomore release, “Unorthodox⑧ Jukebox." (Bruno Mars) "I want to dedicate this award to my mother - Ma, I know you're watching, I hope you're smiling, I love you. Thank you guys so much.” (Paul McCartney performing) Paul McCartney, engineer Bob Ludwig and gospel singer Tye Tribett were double winners. Imagine Dragons and Rihanna also picked up trophies. The 56th Grammy Awards, the music industry's top honors handed out by the Recording Academy across 82 categories, may be remembered more for its performances and unscripted moments than the awards that are bestowed⑨. 1. category 类别 2. nominate 提名 3. duo 双人组合 4. trophy 奖杯 5. veteran 元老 6. eerie 怪异的 7. collaboration 合作 8.
