I want something to eat and I want it now, he said. Flora the mermaid gave Slug a jellyfish, but Slug said, I don't want a jellyfish. I want something good to eat. Nipper the crab gave Slug some seaweed, but Slug said, I don't want seaweed. I want something good to eat. Then Slug looked at Flora and Nipper. I can see something very good to eat, he said. What can you see? They said. You! Said Slug. Slug tried to catch Nipper, but Nipper went under a sea shell. You must not eat me, said Nipper. But Slug said, I am very big and I can do what I like. Then Slug tried to catch Flora, but Flora swam off so fast that Slug couldn't catch her. Flora swam off to find the king of the sea. You must help us, she said, Slug the monster wants to eat us up. So the king swam off with his magic trident to find Slug. Stop that now! Said the king. I'm the king of the sea and you must do as I say. But Slug said, I'm very big and I can do what I like. Then Slug looked at the king. Now I can see something very good to eat, he said. What? Asked the king. You! Said Slug, I'm going to eat you up! Oh no! Said Flora and Nipper, Slug is going to eat the king! But just as Slug opened his mouth, the king blew on his magic trident. He made Slug the sea monster into a little slug. Flora and Nipper laughed and laughed. Look at Slug, they said, he can't eat us now. He is just a little slug. Make me big, Slug said to the king, I don't want to be little. Will you be good? Asked the king. Yes, I will be very good, said Slug. So the king blew on his magic trident and made Slug into a bis sea monster. Slug was happy. Thank you, he said. Now I can see something good to eat, he said. What? They all asked. Jellyfish and seaweed!
