Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG has denied recent rumors of a transfer for Manchester United Captain Wayne Rooney on Wednesday.
English TV personality Piers Morgan stated in his column for the UK-based Daily Mail Online that the 30 year old player was offered a huge 3 year deal worth nine figures after tax from the Chinese club.
Since Morgan's column, Wednesday saw a response from SIPG saying that they are committed to their current line-up for this year's AFC champions league as well as the CSL.
Although they have denied of the Rooney rumor, Shanghai SIPG didn't deny the possibility of an import happening this summer.
Currently for SIPG, they have had a slow start in the Super League after losing their opener to Henan Jianye.
Up next from them will be a derby match against Shanghai Greenland on Friday.
