A major coup for up-and-coming badminton player Angus Long from Hong Kong.
The 21-year old is poised to possibly crack the world top-10 after upsetting world number one Chen Long this afternoon at the Singapore Open.
Angus Long got past Chen Long in convincing fashion, 21-14, 21-18 to move into the semi-finals.
Currently ranked 16th in the world, Angus Long will face the winner of a match later tonight between world number-7 Tian Houwei and a player from South Korea.
Two other Chinese competitors, Wang Zhengming and Lin Dan, will also be in action tonight in the Singapore quarter-finals.
Lin Dan will be looking to surpass Japan's Kento Momota into 3rd in the world-rankings with a solid showing in Singapore.
"Super Dan" was bumped down to world number-4 this week after Malaysia's Lee Chong-wei overtook both him and Mamota in the world rankings.
Mamota isn't playing in Singapore this weekend.
