If it's spring, it must be time for a new film adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novels.
Sparks' latest heroine is played by Britt Robertson, who sets up "The Longest Ride" while the cowboy she falls in love with is played by Scott Eastwood, the son of legendary Hollywood actor and director Clint Eastwood.
"My character just moves to North Carolina because she gets a scholarship and she's really into art history and wants to live in New York because that's her passion and she gets dragged to a bull riding event one day by her sorority sisters and meets this guy and he asks her out on a date and they sort of have this really nice connection, but they realize their worlds and their ideas for their own life are completely, completely different and they're not exactly sure how that&`&s going to work. And they meet this man after their first date..."
Alan Alda plays a 90-year-old widower named Ira in the movie.
" The character of Ira then influences our love story by telling his own love story of Ira and Ruth when they were young and it spans their whole lifetime."
Playing a risk-taking bull-rider, Eastwood said he learned how to ride a bull for the film, even though he didn't do any of his own stunts.
"I did buck a bull, I actually have the video to prove it. So I think we're going to show it pretty soon here."
Like his father, Scott Eastwood has become a bit of a sex symbol, though he resorts to cliches when asked if his dad has given him any advice.
"Advice from good old pops? You know, just keep working hard. Be humble. My own advice, or I think I heard it in a rap song, maybe it was Biggie Smalls or Tupac? It was, 'Just never believe your own hype.'"
"The Longest Ride" opens in American theatres this Friday and will come to cinemas around the world in the near future.
