Leaders at Minsk talks in contact over Ukraine: Kremlin
Russia says that leaders at the Minsk talks are keeping in touch over the ongoing discussings involving the situation in Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said four heads of state in the Normandy format plan are to hold telephone conferences as soon as all relevant sides start to implement the Minsk agreements.
The spokesman said Russia expects all points of the Minsk accord to be fully implemented.
The leaders of Russia, Ukraine, France and Germany have reached a new peace deal following marathon talks in Belarus Wednesday.
It includes a ceasefire between Ukrainian forces and the rebels, which is to begin on Sunday.
It will be followed by the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the front lines and constitutional reforms to give eastern Ukraine more autonomy.
DPRK to hold military parade to mark birthday of ruling party
North Korea's ruling party has decided to stage a grand military parade to mark the 70th anniversary of the country's founding and the nation's liberation.
The political bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party has passed a resolution on celebrations.
It says North Korea will produce powerful military equipment in large numbers to cope with modern warfare.
It adds North Korea will make vigorous effort to achieve national reunification and develop foreign relations "in a multilateral and proactive way."
In addition, more construction will be completed this year, including a sci-tech complex, Terminal 2 of Pyongyang International Airport and Building No.3 of Kim Il Sung University.
10 killed, over 50 injured in Pakistan's mosque attack
At least 10 people have been killed and over 50 others injured in a suicide attack at a mosque for Shia Muslims in Pakistan's northwestern provincial capital of Peshawar on Friday afternoon.
A spokesperson for a local hospital said at least 10 bodies and over 50 injured including children were brought to the hospital after the incident.
The spokesman said that the death toll may rise further as around 10 injured were in critical condition at the hospital.
The incident took place when two suicide bombers wearing paramilitary uniforms entered the mosque after throwing hand grenades and opening fire at the security guards at the main entrance.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
12 killed, 150 injured in train derailment in India
At least 12 people have died after a train derailed in southern India, with another 150 injuries reported.
Local police in Bengaluru say nine coaches came off the track near the city. Seven victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while three others have died in hospital.
Local TV footage shows rescuers looking for additional crash victims in the wreckage.
A senior railway official says there are reports a boulder may have rolled onto the track. Investigators have yet to confirm such details.
Australia's richest person attempts to block TV show
Australia's richest person has launched legal action to try to stop the airing of the second part of a television program about her family's colorful life story.
Following Australian broadcaster Channel 9's screening of the first part of "House of Hancock," Gina Rinehart's legal team was unhappy with the "fictitious, unfounded or grossly distorted" scenes portrayed in the show that is based on Rinehart's relationship with her late father, Lang Hancock.
Rinehart's lawyers applied to the Supreme Court to be given a copy of the concluding episode of the two-part program due to be aired on Sunday night.
Rinehart, the sixth richest woman in the world, is seeking to determine whether the drama is defamatory in its portrayal of her relationship with her late father and his wife Rose, a former housemaid Rinehart employed to care for her father after her mother died.
China plans tourism zone with Russia, DPRK
China, Russia, and North Korea are planning to build a joint tourism zone in the area where the borders of the three countries meet.
The Tumen River Delta international tourism area will include parts of China's Hunchun city, as well as 10 square-kilometer plots of land on the Russian and North Korean sides.
The government of Jilin Province in northeastern China says the three partners will jointly build tourism facilities in the partner area.
The provincial government is to develop a blueprint for its part of the tourism area this year, and begin exploration of a management model involving the three countries.
The initiative was put forward by the government of Hunchun City in 2013 and drew interest from the Russian and North Korean sides.
There is even talk of connecting Mongolia and Japan to the tourism area through highways, railroads, and air routes.
Keep fit or lose rank: Army sets standard for soldiers' weight
Members of China's Army have been reminded to stay in shape or else lose out on promotions.
The Army has set a compulsive standard for soldiers' weight and vowed to pay more attention to military physical training.
The guideline said physical training should be linked to personnel management, referring to promotions or demotions.
It said military physical training is "a basic way of enhancing soldiers and officers' physical and mental quality" and helps cultivate combat power.
Jackie Chan's son released from prison
Jaycee Chan, son of Chinese kung fu star Jackie Chan, has been released from prison after six months.
Last August, Beijing police arrested the younger Chan and Taiwan movie star Ko Chen-tung. Both tested positive for marijuana and admitted to using the drug. Police discovered over a hundred grams of marijuana in a bedroom at Jaycee Chan's house. He had been held in custody since his arrest.
Ko was released from custody after 14 days. Last month, Chan was sentenced to six months in prison and fined 2,000 yuan by the Dongcheng District People's Court in Beijing.
China has detained a string of celebrities on drug-related and prost
