Tina采访了3个美国人:
1、Jonathan
2、Jackie
3、Jackson:
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday [as/because] it focuses on my two favorite things: Food and family.
On Thanksgiving day I usually wake up around 10 and have coffee with my dad and my sister. In order to save our appetite for the big meal, we only have a piece of fruit for breakfast. My family and I like to [save as much room] for the feast as possible. Thanksgiving dinner usually [takes place] a bit earlier than usual, at around 4 or 5 pm [rather than] 6 or 7. As we sit around the table we each [take turns] saying what we are thankful for in our lives. This [takes a while] as some people make long speeches while others only say a few words.
*feast:a large or special meal, especially for a lot of people and to celebrate sth
1、To mom and dad❤️
1) Mom and dad… you’ve gone through a lot of struggle and pain. But I promise, I won’t let all that go in vain(徒劳的).
I will grow up, to be the best I can be.
2) Success is in my stride( stride,步伐、进展。在我的掌握之中), because I have parents like you by my side.
3) Dear mom and dad, I have let so many years pass without thanking you both. But you haven’t let a single second pass without loving me unconditionally.
4) One day I’ll be successful and people will ask me which college I went to. I’ll say, ‘It doesn’t matter because it is my parents who made me what I am today’.
2、To husband/wife
1) There are so many things my heart wants to say to you, all of which can be summed up in just three words – thanks for everything. I love you.
2) The best way I can thank you for being the awesome husband that you are, is by being the most amazing wife that I can be.
祝大家感恩节快乐!
