I don’t know about you guys, but I just want to relax and put my feet up. 【Modern Family-S2E3】
【发音】[aɪ] [dəʊnt] [nəʊ] [əˈbaʊt] [ju:] [gaɪz] [bʌt] [aɪ] [dʒʌst] [wɒnt]/[wɑ:nt] [tʊ] [rɪˈlæks] [ænd] [pʊt] [maɪ] [fi:t] [ʌp]
【发音技巧】don’t know不完全失去爆破;but I连读+美音浊化;want to完全失去爆破;put my不完全失去爆破;feet up连读+美音浊化;
Desperate Housewives S1E12
Take a load off.
to sit down and rest one’s feet; to relax
put one’s feet up
to sit down and relax, especially with your feet raised and supported
eg: After a hard day's work, it's nice to get home and put your feet up.
eg: You should go home and put your feet up.
Don’t cross your legs.
eg: She sat down and crossed her legs.
put one’s foot down
1. to refuse very firmly to do or accept something:
出面制止;
eg: When she started borrowing my clothes without asking, I had to put my foot down.
也可以指做某个决定不妥协,立场坚定;
eg: She put her foot down and said we could not go to the carnival.
2. to drive much faster
eg: The road ahead was clear, so I put my foot down.
