Min Aung Hlaing says Myanmar willing to keep communicating with China
Myanmar's military leader says China is one of Myanmar's important neighbors and Myanmar is willing to keep communicating with China.
Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing, who is also the chairman of Myanmar's State Administration Council, met with Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai on Saturday.
He also said Myanmar is dedicated to maintaining national stability and promoting economic development.
Ambassador Chen Hai said China hopes that Myanmar will restore peace and stability, adding that China supports the consensus reached by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries and will continue to play a constructive role.
The ASEAN consensus reached in late April calls for an immediate end to the violence in Myanmar and for constructive dialogue among all parties involved in the fighting.

Armed assailants struck during the night on Friday, killing residents of a village in Yagha Province bordering Niger.
