【节气】Slight Heat 小暑 The wind comes with a hot wave. The cricket hides in the crack in the wall. The young eagle starts to learn how to fly and hunt. Today is xiaoshu, the Slight Heat. It is the 11th of the 24 solar terms, the fifth one of the summer season. It falls around July 7 each year. It is the beginning of the hottest season. The rain season will soon stop along the Yangtze River. But in the north of China, rainfall and thunderstorms are increasing. In traditional Chinese culture, there are three “Fu” periods (three periods of the hot season) between the Slight Heat and the End of Heat. During the Slight Heat period, the first “Fu” begins.
