Climate change more than doubled the odds of such a drought. It also helped temporarily dry up Bolivia’s second largest lake—Lake Poopo. In other spots, like New York City, more water vapor in the air causes heavier snowfalls—but snow also is melting sooner in spring. Climate Change doesn’t cause a particular drought or storm, but it makes such events more likely. It adds moisture to the air, removing it from land and ocean. When rain is lacking, it makes the drought worse. When rain or snow falls, it’s more likely to be extreme. —— end ——
