Today I’m going to tell you how to pronounce words clearly when reading, in English. I often stutter a lot when I’m talking in English, but there are ways that you can speak clearer. The first one is to speak slowly. It seems obvious, but it helps you a lot. A lot of English words have a lot of sounds grouped together into one word, which can make it difficult to pronounce. If you slow down, you can speak all the sounds clearly. For example, the word “sixth”. In this word, there’s first an S sound, then an X sound, and finally a TH sound. Pretty hard to pronounce if you’re in a rush. But if you slow down, you can pronounce all the sounds clearly. My second tip is to open your mouth further. This can help your speech be more audible and clear. If your mouth is halfway closed, it’ll sound very muffled. And lastly, if you’re reading an English book, focus on the words after the ones you are reading. For example, if you’re reading the sentence “The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog”, as you read “the quick”, look at “brown fox” with your eyes, and think about how to pronounce it. These are tips that I use when I speak, and I find them helpful. Hope you found these helpful as well!
