Following his Super Bowl half-time show, The Weeknd got a shoutout from the University of Toronto and it came with the cutest throwback picture of him. The image posted to Twitter highlights the global superstar's humble beginnings from a talent show in his hometown of Scarborough back in 2008, to his performance at the Super Bowl in 2021. The University of Toronto Scarborough took to social media to showcase their pride for the talented Scarborough native and did so in meme form. The photo is posted in two parts, the first shows a younger The Weeknd, simply known as Abel Makkonen Tesfaye then, on a stage during a Scarborough Campus Students' Union talent show in '08. The post has gotten almost 50,000 likes. local institutions were feeling proud of their hometown boy — particularly places in Scarborough, the east Toronto neighbourhood where The Weeknd grew up.
