The Road Not Taken 未选择的路

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
黄色的树林里分出两条路,
可惜我不能同时去涉足,

我向着一条路极目望去,
直到它消失在丛林深处。
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had really worn them about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves, no step had trodden black.

Robert Frost (罗伯特·弗罗斯) 于1874年出生于加州。他的诗歌多从乡村生活中汲取题材反应当代年轻人的思想斗争和社会问题,描写风格细腻而不浮夸。他的作品曾赢得4次普利策奖( Pulitzer Prizes)和许多其他的奖励及荣誉,被称之为“美国文学中的桂冠诗人”。而其中 《未选择的路The Road Not Taken》就是是他最著名代表作之一。
