Baby lion
(Life in the zoo, and in the jungle)
I am happiest in big zoos, lion's need a lot of space. A quite grassy shady patch, is just our favorite place.
When we live in the open plains, all other animals fear a lion's roar. One day I will be king of the jungle, of that you can be sure.
I spend my days sleeping and eating, there's not much else to do.mommy and daddy stay close to me, sometimes, brothers and sisters too.
I love to run for miles, across grassy desert plains. I enjoy a relaxing dust bath, all the Cubs play funny games.
Mealtimes are the same each day, we get thrown some meat to eat. And when I am full, I stretch and yawn, then find somewhere comfortable to sleep.
Daddy hunts for our family food, often traveling a very long way! I learn to stalk and track my prey, but often they run quickly away.
Lots of people come to see us, they admire daddy's golden mane. I play with the other lion cubs, chasing tails is my favorite game.
In the wild, life is not so easy, other lions often want to fight. I prick up my claws, then pick up my paws and run until I am out of sight.
At nighttime, it is quite, the wind whistles through the trees. As the sun goes down I fall asleep, relaxing in the early evening breeze.
The nighttime can be dangerous,as other animals begin to creep. Mommy and daddy keep me safe, and with one eye open, I peacefully sleep.
