Today’s book is called captain Cat by Sid Hoff. We will be reading pages 30 through 33. Please open your book to page 30.
Read along with me:
The general fixed a soldiers gun.
He fixed Pete’s hat.
All he could fix for Captain Cat were his whiskers.
“Forward march!” said the general.
Let’s read it again:
The general fixed a soldiers gun.
He fixed Pete’s hat.
All he could fix for Captain Cat were his whiskers.
“Forward march!” said the general.
Today we are learning two new words: fix and whiskers
Repeat after me:
Fix
Fix
Fix
Fix means to fasten something in place, or to make it just the way it should be. In the story, the general fixed a gun and a hat for the other soldiers, but all he could fix for Captain cat were his whiskers.
Let’s practice the word whiskers:
Whiskers
Whiskers
Whiskers
Now, lets practice the sentence. Repeat after me:
All he could fix for Captain Cat were his whiskers.
All he could fix for Captain Cat were his whiskers.
All he could fix for Captain Cat were his whiskers.
Good! What are whiskers? Whiskers are the long hairs that grow from the faces of some animals. Cats have whiskers. Mice have whiskers, too.
