Independence Day
Every year on the 4th of July, Americans celebrate Independence Day, to remember the day their country became an independent state. There are parades and parties in every town and village, and fireworks late into the night. But the 4th of July is not the date the Declaration of Independence was signed. This happened later on 2nd August. The 4th of July 1776 was the date on which most of the states or colonies, which attended the meeting of Congress in Philadelphia, approved the Declaration.
