哎呀，Humpty Dumpty一不小心从高高的墙上摔了下来。Great fall呢就是说humpty dumpty摔得真的是很重啊。

听说HumptyDumpty从墙上摔了下来，国王的兵马都赶了过来。

可是就算来的人马再多，都没办法把Humpty Dumpty再拼起来。
而这是有关一个人形鸡蛋的故事，他坐在墙上，然后从墙上掉下来，砸碎了，国王跟士兵来了，想救他，但砸坏的鸡蛋是补不了的。所以Humpty Dumpty也有“一经损坏无法修复的东西”的含义。
这首韵律本来是个谜语，在编谜语的那个时代，Humpty dumpty其实是指英国议会党与保皇党之战(1642-1652)中所使用的一个炮台的名字，国王的兵马也是由此引申出来的。在18世纪的英文俚语中Humpty Dumpty指的是又矮又胖的人。胖人从墙头跌下不会碎，而蛋跌下来会碎，所以谜底是蛋。因为谜底众所周知，所以后来也就成了一首快乐的童谣了
