Part Two: O. J. Simpson Sentenced for Hotel Robbery O. J. Simpson stood shackled and stone-faced as a Las Vegas judge sentenced him for a hotel armed robbery. The 61-year-old football Hall of Famer was sentenced Friday to at least 15 years. The judge called Simpson arrogant and ignorant. She also said that the evidence against him in this case was overwhelming and stressed it was not in retribution for his 1995 double murder acquittal. Before the sentencing, an emotional Simpson made a rambling 5-minute plea for leniency. But the judge rejected the apology, saying it wasn’t much more than stupidity. She said that someone could have been hurt or even killed during the confrontation. Simpson’s sisters and adult daughter sat in the front row of the courtroom, Fred Goldman and his daughter Kim, the father and sister of murder victim Ron Goldman, were also there.
