Borrowing Power to Do Evil
In China, there are a lot of funny stories. I am familiar with one of the stories called “Borrowing power to do evil”. Today, I want to share it with all of you.
One day, a giant tiger was looking for food in a dense forest. It pounced upon and caught a fox as soon as the fox happened to scurry by. At the moment, the fox came up with a smart idea to release itself. It got up the courage then said to the tiger, “Mr. Tiger, Would you eat me?”
“Why not?” answered the tiger.
“Honest speaking, the god sent me to rule all of you animals. If you defy the God to eat me, you will be punished. What a nerve!”
Shocked for a moment, the tiger released its claws. The fox wagged its tail proudly and continued, “I will take you to the other animals, and show you my great power and prestige.”
Then, one in the front and the other in the back, the tiger followed the fox towards the depths of the forest. The fox was very cocky and shaking its head with a wagging tail. The tiger was looking around with doubt.
The deer, the bears, the rabbits… Who saw the fox with a tiger behind, didn’t know what the matter was. They ran away as fast as they could because of the tiger. “How powerful the fox is!” thought the tiger.
“You see, my friend, who is not afraid of me?” said the fox.
