It's a very exciting place! I wish I went to more exciting places. I haven't been to an exciting place in a little while What is the opposite of beautiful? (this one is easy) beautiful -> ugly That one isn't very hard.. This one is actualy interesting ... because cheap has different meanings! So when it's describing a THING ... cheap/expensive are good This computer is very cheap. This jacket is very cheap. But SOMETIMES we say a person is cheap. If I say "He's cheap" It mean he doesn't like to spend money! Do you know the opposite of this "cheap"? What do we call someone who likes to share his money? So we have cheap expensive, and cheap generous Sometimes cheap can also be a way to criticise a person 很低俗,没有文化的,没有素质 He's a cheap man. So cheap has lots of meanings in English ... When you use it for people, it's generally not good! Next one is clean Dirty CAN be the opposite of clean But here "dirty" is not an option When we're talking about places, "clean" and "polluted' are opposites. The opposite of "interesting"? "Don't go to that neighborhood, it's very dangerous." The cities in China don't really have dangerous neighborhoods.. But in America, some cities have dangerous neighborhoods. So let's add a few more adjective pairs to this list What are some other opposites that we can add? Okay, so large and small could be one. What's the opposite of gorgeous Historical Modern Humid Dry Lively Deserted Gorgeous is a good wood Quiet and Loud Let's make a few sentences using this new Adjectives Everyone make 1 sentence describing their own city using one of these adjectives. If you can use 2 adjectives in one sentence, that's great! The city where I live in spacious and very relaxing. Guangzhou is very beautiful and clean. In fact, sometimes we can use many adjectives in one sentence. My city is beautiful and quiet, but a little bit boring and expensive. What does it mean if a price is "pretty reasonable"? The opposite of reasonable is "unreasonable" Sometimes we say, "Your price is unreasonable." Puerto Rico is actually a part of America But it's also separate. It's kind of like Tibet in China. So your homework for tonight is to read the grammar in Section 3 Do all of the questions in Section A and preview Section B "though" and "however." But most important is to review!
