介绍:
Tattoo 纹身 Fake 不是真的 temporary 短期的 permanent 永久的 In the UK, only people who are above 18 years old can get tattoos. So when I turned 18, I got my first tattoo. One of my cousins graduated from the University of Toronto. And her younger brother is studying there now. Yes! I waited a long time to get my tattoo. I think that it is very important that we wait for some time after we choose a design. If you still like the design after 1 or 2 years, then you should get the tattoo. I also like tattoos very much. But I think tattoos are very personal. So I have my tattoo on my upper arm. I only show it to other people if they want to see it. Many people still think that people with tattoos are bad people. So I don't show my tattoo to everyone. My friends have come from out of town. I am taking care of them now. Or I am spending time with them now. If I have a cat, then I am the cat's master. I can also say 'owner'. For example: He is the dog's owner. The dog ran to his master. So this is a conversation where two parents are asking their kids to do some things. The children don't want to listen at first. But then they tell their parents that they will do it. Do all of you understand this conversation? You all read this conversation before the holiday. So we don't have to do that again. The first thing we will look at is: Two-part verbs Two-part verbs These are actions. But we use two words to describe the action. Turn down This means to make something less. This is only used for some situations. For example: Turn down the TV. This means 'lower the volume of the TV'. The TV is too loud. We don't want it to be so loud anymore. Do all of you understand this so far? Turn down the TV. Turn the TV down. When we use 'two-part verbs' with nouns, we can keep the two parts of the verb together. OR We can put the noun in between the two parts of the verb. Another example: Turn down the Air Conditioner. Turn the Air Conditioner down. Here, Turn down means the same thing. It means to make something less. For example: The room is too cold. Turn down the Air Conditioner please! Pick up Pick up your things. Pick your things up. 拿起 The rule is the same here. But the rule changes when we use 'pronouns'. For example: it = the TV Turn it down. We cannot say: Turn down it. This is wrong. So, when we use pronouns with Two-part verbs, we cannot put the pronoun after the Two-part verb. We must use the pronoun between the two parts of the verb. Second example: Pick them up. them = your things them is a pronoun So it must be betwen 'Pick' and 'up Second example: Pick them up. them = your things them is a pronoun So it must be betwen 'Pick' and 'up We cannot say 'Pick up them' This is NOT correct. 2 grammar rules for Two-part verbs: 1. with nouns: noun can be after the verb or between the 2 parts of the verb 2. with pronouns: pronoun must be between the 2 parts of the verb. When someone makes a request, someone has to respond. When we respond to a request, we use the word 'will' Please turn down the music. Ok. I'll turn it down. 2nd example: Request: Pick up your clothes please. Response: All right. I'll pick them up. Music - singular noun Clothes - plural noun 单数的用 it 复数的用 them Music is always a singular noun. But it is a non-count noun (不可数的) Clothes is always a plural noun. This is a special noun. We can never say 1 clothes. This is wrong. We can say: 1 set of clothes. 4 sets of clothes. Etc. Clothes - this is always talking about more than one thing. For example: His clothes are nice. This might mean that his shirt and pants are nice. But it cannot ONLY mean his shirt. It cannot ONLY mean his pants. It MUST mean more than 1 item. So we cannot say: This clothes. We MUST say: THESE clothes. If we want to talk about 1 item, we can say: 1 article of clothing 1 article of clothing = 一件衣服 English has a lot of strange words. In my opinion, the rules are sometimes very silly. Look at the pictures and try to complete each of the sentences in Part A. Remember to use the grammar rules for Two-part verbs when you do this! This is your homework for tomorrow! Review the grammar rules again carefulyl and then try to complete the homework for tomorrow! I hope you all have a good night!
