Let's start with a small review of the grammar!
For example! The United Kingdom...
It is located in the north of Europe.
It uses the British Pound.
You could also say: "The british pound is used in the United Kingdom."
London is located in the United Kingdom
These passive sentences use the verb "to be" + present participle...
To move the focus to the subject of the sentence.
"The Chinese yuan is used in China."
"Chinese is spoken in China."
"Chinese is spoken in China." (passive) "Chinese people speak Chinese." (active)
When do we use these sentences? We use the passive form when we want "Chinese" (in the sentence above) to be more important than 'Chinese people."
Many Chinese products, like silk and Chinese medicine are exported to other countries.
"Japanese is spoken in Japan." - Good!
"The Statue of Liberty and the the Grand Canyon are found in the United States."
The active sentence would be: "The United States has the Grand Canyon and the Statue of Liberty." or "The United States is home to the Grand Canyon and the Statue of Liberty."
Those are active sentences.
If everyone is OK with the passive sentences..
