【和老外说英语】和老外聊天哪些雷区千万别踩？

多大了？做什么的？ 哪儿毕业的？工资多少？ 有对象了没？ 这是跟中国人聊天时80%的人都会问我的问题 Oh,my god 简直太可怕了 我要回美国！ 在美国即使你们认识20年 也可能永远不会问这些问题 Why? Because “That’s personal” 这是隐私好吗？ 美国人很重视个人信息和个人空间 甚至不会跟任何人分享。 Americans value their personal information and even their personal space They don’t just share it openly with anybody who asked 比如 除了他自己，他妻子还有他老板 这辈子基本上不会再有人知道他的工资 For instance a person’s salary may only be known by the individual their spouse, and their boss until they die! 如果你站在一个老外后面排队 用你的身体或者包包挤他们 他们的耳朵可能会冒烟 You might start seeing smoke come out of their ears Because they are getting angry 所以如果你要问一个美国人他们赚多少钱 ▼ 他们可能会很礼貌地回你 Sorry,that’s personal 不好意思，这是个人隐私 ▼ 如果他们想开个玩笑就会说： That’s for me to know and you to find out In other words I am not going to tell you 你猜 换句话说就是我不打算告诉你 ▼ 如果你还是不肯放弃，他们会很生气地说： Mind your own business! 管好你自己吧！ 或者 Butt out! 关你啥事儿！ 跟美国人做朋友需要慢慢来 It takes time to become close with an American 但是即使你们很熟了有些事情还是不要越界 and even then some things may still be off limit. 最后给你们一个小建议 不要问一个超过30岁的妇女他的年龄 如果你看到一个女生就问她的体重 那你绝对活不到明天了！ Example 微信班朗读内容 A：How much do you make every month?你一个月赚多少钱？ B1：Sorry, that’s personal .不好意思，这是个人隐私 B2：That’s for me to know and you to find out. 你猜 B3：Mind your own business! 管好你自己吧！ B4：Butt out! 关你啥事儿！ 3 Homework 任务时间 分享一个别人打探你隐私的经历并根据你当时的心情用英语发泄一下情绪。
