The Hare and the Fox
‘’What are you staring at?" said a fox to a hare.
‘’I was wondering," said the hare, ‘’if you really are as cunning(狡猾的)as people say?"
‘’That's an interesting question," replied the fox.‘’Why don't you come to my house and we can discuss it over dinner(在吃晚餐的时候)?‘’
When the hare reached the fox's house, he realised, although the table was set(准备好的), there was no food on it, so he ran off at once.
Can you guess what the fox was planning for dinner?
‘’Thanks to (由于,幸亏)my reaction, I won't be the dinner,"said the hare in a breath.
"Little hare, not stupid. I spare(饶恕,不伤害) you this time," thought the fox unhappily.
The dinner of the fox was originally(起初,原本) the hare.
