Nick: David you know what? I got an offer from City bank!
David: Congratulations buddy! It must have been a hard time being interviewed by them. I heard that City bank’s interviews are crazy hard.
Nick: Yeah. I mean, I prepared pretty well so I didn’t encounter（遇到） too many hard questions. At the end they told me to wait for their call, which I got yesterday.
David: So they told you this good news on the phone?
Nick: Yeah but then they asked if I was willing to（be willing to do愿意做某事） go to another city-oh no, not city but another state for my position. I was like huh huh…
David: Really? That’s not convenient for you having to move to a whole new state! Plus, if you don’t move and we wanted to hang out, I could just see you in a few minutes!
Nick: Yeah, you are right, I know! So I turned them down, saying I’d like to stay in my city. They discussed a little and called me again saying I could stay. I was that’s’ more like it! I don’t wanna leave you guys here!
David: That’s my man.
Nick:刚才我们说这才像话，这才像样。说我拿了一个offer，他们要我去另一个“省份”-如果翻译过来，事实上就是在美国就是另一个州。然后我说这恐怕不太行，因为太远了。然后最后它们妥协了，可以留在我申请的地方。然后我朋友说，that’s my man.这句话就是说，这才像样，这才像话。然后我用了一种表达，叫that’s more like it.也是同样的意思，就是说这才像样。你提给我新的offer才像样。或者我们可以用另外的一种表达叫Atta boy，就是比较熟的朋友之间，注意下这个使用的语境。或者是my boy, 或者是that’s my boy或者是 that’s my man或者是my man.很多种表达都是可以的，使用场景类似。So this is pretty much it for today’s class.
