Playfully Presented after My Post Was Determined
I won’t serve as Hexi’s sheriff,
dreary to bend one’s waist for others.
This old fellow fears having to scurry[1] around,
a post in the Guard is more relaxed.
Addicted to ale, I need a modest salary,
my wild songs are lodged in our sage dynasty.
Gone is my impulse to go back to the mountains of home,
I turn my head and face gusts of wind.
