介绍:
简单、好用的小短语 英语有句俗话: A picture is worth a thousand words: 一张图胜过千言万语 也有一些表达,让你一句胜千言。 A word or phrase could also be worth a thousand words: 很多小词、小短语,也有这种神奇的功效 1. No sweat #2. No biggie 没关系、别客气、举手之劳 "No sweat" is a short version of "no sweat of my back." "No sweat" 是 "no sweat of my back" 的缩短版 "sweat" [swet]:流汗, sweet [swɪːt] n.甜蜜 紧张的时候是不是会汗流浃背啊?这时候一句No sweat,就能让人平静不少。 "No biggie" comes from "No big deal". "No biggie" 是从"No big deal" 演变而来,也是“不是个事儿”的意思。比如: 怎么用? A: I'm sorry I'm running a few minutes late. 不好意思,我要迟到几分钟。 B: No sweat. 没事的啦/不要紧。 A: Thank you for your help.谢谢你帮我! B: No biggie. 小事一桩 更多类似说法: Don't worry. No problem. No big deal. It's all good. Of course "You bet" is similar to "No sweat". But it also has other usages: "You bet" 和"No sweat"很像,但还有别的用法。很多广泛场景下都可以用 怎么用? A: Do you like living in Shanghai? 你喜欢住在上海吗? B: You bet. I love it! 当然咯,我非常喜欢! A: Wasn't the performance last night awesome? 演出真精彩! B: You bet! 当然! A: Thank you for treating me to that performance. 谢谢你请我看演出。 B: You bet. 别客气,很乐意。 *Bet是赌博、猜测的意思* You can bet your money on something (it's a safe bet): 你可以堵, 而且这是一个安全、肯定的赌注 Totally 绝对的! Americans totally love using "totally": 美国人绝对很喜欢用“绝对的” Totally绝对是美国人的口头禅,用来表达认同和强调 A:Her skirt is too short.她的裙子太短了。 B:Totally. 就是啊! #Part2. 有矛盾的短语 Literally ['lɪtərəli] 真的,毫不夸张的! "Literally" 也是美国人最爱的口头禅之一 Literally means "actually", without exaggeration: literally的意思是“字面上讲”,指很真实、不夸张,用来强调真实性。 但是实际使用起来却通常相反,超级夸张! 对比一下: The office is so hot. I'm literally sweating. 办公室真热,我真的在流汗,一点都不夸张 It's so hot in the office. I'm literally dying. 办公室真热,我是真的要热死了,一点都不夸张。(但明显就是夸张) 互相矛盾的单词如: overlook “检查;监视”&“忽视;忽略” I am overlooking her work. 我正在检查她的工作。 I think there is one key fact that you have overlooked. 我认为你忽略了一个重要的事实。 mean “吝啬的,小气的”&“极好的,出色的” He's too mean to buy her a ring. 他太吝啬了,舍不得给她买一枚戒指。 She's a mean piano player. 她是个出色的钢琴演奏家
