DreamWorks Animation: The Top of the Cartoon World 打造動畫的夢幻國度 ── 夢工廠動畫(a)
If you're a fan of great movies, you have probably heard about DreamWorks Pictures, or simply3 DreamWorks. This American movie company has made some of the greatest live-action4 and animated films in recent history. DreamWorks was started in 1994 by three of the top movie producers in Hollywood: Steven Spielberg, David Geffen, and Jeffrey Katzenberg.
They wanted DreamWorks to be different from other studios, so they made three special rules. First, they agreed to make fewer than nine movies each year. By producing fewer movies, they could make sure that each one was excellent. Second, they said that each person was free to do other creative projects5. The final rule was that they would stop working before dinner, so they could spend time with their families.
When the time came to pick a logo6 for their new company, Spielberg wanted a logo that made people think of Hollywood studios from the past. In the end, the producers chose a picture of a boy sitting on the moon, holding a fishing rod. This logo also reminds people about their childhood. The company changed hands many times, and eventually7, they chose to focus on8 animation and changed to DreamWorks Animation in 2004.
