Pretty
The word “pretty” has two meanings:
“pretty”有两个意思:
1. Somebody or something is good looking, handsome.
某人，某物好看，漂亮
2. Use it with an adjective. It means it is something, but not very much.
用做形容词，表示，相当，有些
Examples:
I’m pretty sure (sure, but not very sure) –
我相当确定（确定，但是不是非常确定）
Wow, this guy is pretty big (means he’s big, but not very big).
哇~这人相当壮！（壮，但是不是非常壮）
Also useful in the negative:
也可以用于否定句：
That is pretty bad! (bad, but not very bad)
这相当糟糕！（糟糕，但是不是非常糟糕）
