palate We all know that the palate is divided into two parts： the hard palate and the soft palate. What is a delicate palate, then ? Some people have a delicate palate. That is to say, they are very particular about food or some other things. In this phrase, the word palate means “taste ”or “liking”. While it is not necessarily a good thing to have a delicate palate, it is definitely desirable to have a good palate for food or wine. Some jobs call for this ability—a chef job, for example.
