Towel毛巾 The towel is chiefly used for wiping and drying after washing or bathing. Every day we use face towels，bath towels and dish towels. We use paper toweels ，too. “Towel ”can be used it as a verb. We can say “towel oneself dry”instead of “dry oneself with a towel”. Similarly ，we can say “towel one's arms hard instead of rub one's arms vigorously with a towel”. The idiom “throw in the towel ”comes from boxing. It is often used figuratively. “I think it's early to throw in the towel—I've only just started my work .” In this example the idiom means “admit defeat”. In the following one it means “give up ”.
