From the time we were little children, we have been taught to please others. It’s a hard habit to break, even when we know we are sacrificing honesty and sometimes integrity by trying to get along.
So we say Yes, or we say nothing, when an unfair situation arises, because we don’t want to “rock the boat”. We don’t want people to think that we’re hard to get along with. After we’ve said Yes or nothing too many times, we lose sight of our own values.
I won’t be mean or offensive, but if I don’t say No when I see things that are wrong. Who will? I’m strong enough to face the consequences if I “rock the boat”.
