All of those genres are put together to make this new album. "Voicenotes" comes from basically how all the songs came about. I didn't once write any notes down, pen and paper, I didn't do that once. All I did was take my phone out and record it, save it, take it to the studio. Sometimes they didn't come quickly; sometimes it took... Records, like "Attention", took (you know) a couple (of) minutes to write. Some records, like "How Long", took a couple (of) months to write.
I remember I went to China right when that song came out. And everybody knew that song and everybody knew me. People in America didn't necessarily know who I was. They just knew the song. But everybody in China knew me. I was walking... I thought I could just walk down the street and get some tea. It became like an entire scene. I had no idea that would happen. So, I got much love for China.
