This Canton Tower area is basically just a big square. It's very impressive, (with) lots of lovely buildings. And people come here to take photos and watch the light show at night. So, after taking a couple of pictures we decided we'd head on to our next destination.
And I tell you it's an incredibly interesting place to go, (which is) very very chaotic and full of all sorts of weird and wonderful plants that you've probably never seen in your life, such as these sort of gold flowers that are supposed to represent gold and wealth. So, people basically come here to buy flowers to put into their house, which are supposed to bring certain things: luck, money, health, etc, etc.
And it usually has something to do with the way the name of the plant sounds. But, unfortunately, the main reason why I don't like Guangzhou is the pushing and shoving in the crowds, and the noise and the spitting. And it kept rearing its ugly head. And you know, Cantonese, which is the language, which is spoken in Guangzhou primarily, is a very jovial language, I should say. It's a very loud, very expressive language and people tend to speak very loudly on the trains and in public and it can be quite jarring if you're not used to that sort of thing.
