Without a reminder of death, we tend to take our lives for granted. So these things that ultimately don’t matter consume us. And then when something tragic happens to us, we realize that we’ve wasted away a large chunk of our lives.
In society we normally don’t want to discuss the topic of death. But doing so is one of the best ways to enrich our lives. For one - it puts bad emotions in perspective. Death makes us realize that there just simply isn’t enough time in life for soaking.
Secondly, death motivates us to take action and enjoy every step of the journey. Pushing our happiness until someday once you achieve this thing or that thing is a huge mistake, because “someday” may never come.
