1. My name is Eileen Gu. I'm from San Francisco California. I'm a professional skier but only on the weekends. I do it fullheartedly andwholeheartedly and happily and the same goes for school, I guess,a lot of schoolwork on the plane.
2. I was eight years old. My mom was faced with a decision to put me either in race team or in freeskiing. She thought that anything would be better than racing, cuz racing was too dangerous.
3. In January of 2019 I was at my third World Cup in Italy. And I had fallen both of my first two runs butI was able to take a really deep breath and really think about why Iwas doing this sport and what I loved about it and turning point of being able to kind of manage my own stress. And I ended up landing my run and that was actually my first World Cup win. So big lesson right there.
4. It roughly translates to “have a greater perspective of things that are greater than myself”. It was really about inspiring younger girlswho maybe didn’t know what the sport is or didn't know what extreme sports in general work.
